Maala Index 2006

A total of 49 companies participated in the 2006 Ranking, among them: 36 public firms listed on the TA-100 Index and 13 additional firms, either private or publicly-traded abroad.

These companies represented a combined turnover of NIS 155 billion, and collectively employed 121,000 people.

The number of participating companies actually fell between 2005 and 2006 (from 66 to 49), a drop that Maala interpreted as a reaction by companies to the updated and more complex criteria utilized in 2006, as well as the increased amount of exposure demanded of companies as a result of the new criteria.

The 2006 Ranking also saw changes in the presentation of the results: instead being listed competitively, companies were ranked in blocs, in order to allow for better comparison.
