Maala is hosting a dedicated session for government-owned companies in its corporate network on waste management and treatment. The session was held at the Hiriya Recycling Park and included a visit to the environmental education center, a tour of the RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) facility and the construction waste recycling plant, and a conversation with Gil Livne, CEO of the Dan Region Association of Towns for Environmental Protection and Hiriya Recycling Park.

A delegation of leading HR VPs from Israel’s largest companies convened at the President’s Residence for a full day program focused on strengthening cohesion within organizations. Workplaces contain the full diversity of Israeli society and serve as a microcosm of what’s happening in Israel as a whole. At the same time, they offer a safe space where people from different backgrounds and with different views work together toward a common goal. Herein lies the ability of workplaces to advance cohesion and influence both the organization and Israeli society at large. The gathering was held in partnership between the the Office of the President of Israel, the Israeli Society for Human Resource Management (ISHRM), and Maala with the aim of deepening the dialogue with corporate HR leaders, introducing organizations working to reduce polarization and strengthen cohesion, and discussing how businesses can advance cohesion and what value this creates internally for companies and for Israeli society as a whole. Maala, in partnership with Good Vision from Grant Thornton Israel and the Manufacturers Association of Israel, is leading a session on climate risk management and biodiversity conservation as part of the Environment 2050 Conference. The session will present case studies from leading Israeli companies on the value of mapping and managing climate risks in ways that ensure business continuity and achievement of company goals. The session will also explore how Israel’s largest companies are working to preserve biodiversity in Israel in ways that create real value for them and for all of us. The session will showcase innovative management tools and frameworks from around the world being applied in these areas.

As part of a joint initiative between Maala and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, we’ll examine the role of affordable housing in corporate responsibility. A global review we conducted shows that affordable housing is integrated into international ESG reporting frameworks, measured by rating agencies assessing companies’ ESG policies, and included in the social strategies of companies across various business sectors. The aim of this session is to explore how affordable housing can be connected to and integrated into the corporate responsibility strategies of companies in the Israeli economy.

An online working session with representatives from MSCI, the international rating and analysis firm, who presented the guiding rationale behind how companies are measured, with a particular focus on Israeli companies. MSCI is set to release an updated questionnaire with revised criteria in early 2026, and during the session the speakers addressed the difference between social and environmental performance and how these translate into financial risk. MSCI representatives also discussed regulatory changes in the global ESG landscape.
